2010 Nomad IDS

he kite everyone will be talking about is the all new Nomad IDS Freestyle Wave kite. The non-bow hybrid IDS kite combines the best of both worlds…a moderate C shaped arc and an IDS bridle to deliver our fastest turning kite yet. The Nomad creates the type of kite turns that increase in power throughout the turning arc by pivoting off of the wing tip. This makes for powered kite loops unlike anything on the market. The Nomad IDS comes with two distinct turning options. The freeride bridle setting is aimed squarely at the professional freestyle rider and is balanced to fly perfectly while unhooked. This setting is ideal for intermediate to pro level freestyle tricks or un-hooked surfing.

2010 Crossbow IDS

The 2010 Crossbow IDS is the world’s fastest kite in it’s category. Years of refinement has made the Crossbow highest performing Freeride Race kite available today. The Crossbow IDS is a highly tuned wind capable of winning top level course races like the US National Championships or being only one of three kites in the world to break the 50 knot speed barrier. The Crossbow started the bow revolution and today continues to define the essence of speed and control, versatility and security.

2010 Switchblade IDS

Now in it’s 5th season, the 2010 Switchblade IDS remains the premier Wakestyle Freeride kite. The Switchblade is designed to perform in a wide range of conditions, hooked or unhooked. The steady predictable pull and it’s ability to fly forward when unhooked makes the Switchblade perfect for hitting kickers, sliders and just about any wakestyle trick in the book. In 2010 improvements have been made to increase the Switchblade’s turning speed and relaunch.

2010 Convert IDS

When it comes to versatility and value the Convert IDS can not be beat. Created from the DNA of the Cabrinha top line of kites, the Convert IDS is designed to deliver the widest range of use and easiest handling. We’ve put control, handling, security and relaunch at the top of the performance brief while putting value at the top of the price position target.

2010 Rebel

From flat-water freedom to tearing the bag out of any size surf, the 2010 Rebel is the all-terrain freeride / wave kite of your dreams. Smooth, lively and responsive steering, even whende-powered, makes it the ideal kite for surfing and a blast to ride in any conditions. The loaded 5th line design, in addition to providing safety, gives the Rebel its short and aggressive power stroke that is up to 30% shorter than bridled kites. This means huge range and top-end comfort on those super windy days and the ability to instantly turn the power off and on at will as you link your turns down the line. Our new “floating” center strut further enhances the direct de-power by allowing the canopy to easily luff as well as providing rock-solid stability in strong winds. The new back-line “V” attachment distributes the load of the back-lines on the kite for a solid bar feel and, together with the new bungee system, eliminates any line snags during re-launch. The Rebel’s unique steering sensitivity and smoothness have also been improved by implementing a straight segment in theleading edge for an ultra clean, flutter-free canopy near the tips that keeps you connected and in-tune to the kite’s every movement. So stop dreaming and go ride.

2010 Vegas

The 2010 Vegas is a classic C-shape with a pure C feel and massive pop for radical new-school freestyle. Building on the best points of the ’08 and ’09, the ‘10 Vegas has the classic feel you’ve come to expect from one of the world’s most popular freestyle kites with added benefits. Designed specifically for freestyle riding, no compromises were made towards developing a kite with the performance potential necessary for tackling today’s most technical new-school tricks. Further development of the 5th element system, allowed us to develop a true C kite with great stability and rock-solid power, combined with maximum safety and de-power abilities. Reduced canopy segments and special construction translates into smooth, intuitive and playful turning characteristics that are easily recognized in kite loops where the kite climbs back up overhead for controlled landings. Our most homogenous Vegas line ever. All sizes offer an incredibly similar feeling in both turning speed and bar load, requiring nearly no adjustment time when switching kite sizes.

2010 Rhino

The North Rhino has always been synonymous with extreme power and big jumps. The 2009 Rhino is no exception. Designed for jumping, racing and getting out in the lightest wind the '09 Rhino has the biggest low-end, best hang-time and best upwind speed of any kite in the North range. Less extreme sweep and a slightly flatter profile in the center and tips contribute to better high-wind stability, less drag in overpowered conditions and smooth, responsive turning. Improved lift makes it easy to get big lofty jumps that are vertical and drag-free. The simplified Attack Control Bridle permits substantial changes in angle of attack (power/de-power) without any undesirable twists in kite geometry which results in a surprisingly crisp and responsive bar feel.

Additionally, the AC bridle allows you to fly the Rhino on 5 lines for maximum safety or 4 lines without losing any performance. Although de-power is not as instantaneous when the safety is engaged in 4 line mode, the AC bridle does allow the Rhino to flip onto it's back and de-power much like a 5th element. This is more than the answer to the Cabrinha IDS System! In order to keep the Rhino as light as possible, more light rip-stop has been utilized in the canopy as well as our tested and well-proven Snakeskin along the trailing edge.

2010 Evo

North introduces an EVOlution in free-ride kiteboarding! The Evo can be ridden on 4 or 5 lines and bridges the gap perfectly between Vegas and Rebel, uniting new-school and free-ride in one kite. The Evo‘s delta shape offers great sheet-and-go riding, excellent wind range and high de-power. The roundish shape helps the Evo turn quickly and predictably while the new bridle geometry stabilizes the arc for a soft, consistent bar feel and extreme back-stall resistance.

The 4 line mode boasts an innovative new safety system and bar-feel prefect for those who prefer soft, easy handling. In 5 line mode the 5th Element additionally stabilizes the arc, providing very direct bar-feel for new-school riding and the ultimate 5th line safety. Auto re-launch means that you can go for it and never have to worry about re-launchng your kite...just take your hands off the bar and let the kite do the work for you! The Evo is built tough to take some thrashings and the new connection between strut and leading edge easily withstands the high loads of the delta shape.
