POOLE

From Weymouth simply follow the signs for Poole along the A31. At the Bere Regis roundabout (Esso Garage) turn right and then left at the next roundabout for Poole. It is then abut 16 miles into Poole.

At the Holes Bay roundabout (with fishing boat in the middle) turn right towards Poole town centre - Holes Bay on your right. When you see the Animal main headquarters keep left up and over the flyover. At the next roundabout pick up the brown signs for the beach - you are now about 10 minutes away. Look out for the bucket and spade signs in the road. As you approach Sandbanks up Evening Hill don't forget to look right as the view across to Brownsea Island is amazing!

Kitesurfing off the beach at Sandbanks Poole

If you are coming from London - take M3 and then M27 following signs to Bournemouth. Leave the A338 (Wessex Way) at "Liverpool Victoria" roundabout and head towards Sandbanks on the B3965 until you reach Banks Road. The award winning Sandbanks beach is situated on the left hand side with the harbour on the right.

Parking is chargeable all year round.

Sailing Conditions - Whitley Bay works well in SW winds - the wind blowing across from Brownsea Island - making it easy to kitesurf across the bay.

The main Sandbanks beach faces south east so the best wind directions are from the south west - (cross shore from the right) or easterlies (cross shore from the left). If the wind swings round - simply move down the coast a litle as Branksome Chine can offer some amazing conditions when it blows right.
